About Steer, Deed, Bottrill, Cornfoot, Cornford families
While you're here we are having a Deed family reunion in Majorca Victoria on 2nd October 2016. If you would like information on this please message myself or Donna Cole (nee:Deed)
Hi there! I am Janine Hand (nee: Steer), I live in Adelaide, South Australia and this is my family tree. I have been researching for about twenty years. Most of my data has been contributed by family
members, many of whom I have never met except by internet.
Information on Living individuals has been suppressed.
Additional information on many members of this tree can be obtained if you email me - I look forward to hearing from you!
I have made a lot of mistakes by having people doubled up on here so I have now started another tree, I will send invites to all the people that already are on here. Please bear with me while I add photos & other information.
I would like to thank these people for their information. I will add more as I find them.

It is indeed a desirable thing to be well-descended, but the glory belongs to our ancestors. ~~~ Plutarch (46-120), Greek essayist, biographer ~~~
We are the story tellers, the bards, the druids of the tribes. We hear the calling of those who went before us as their path leads to ours. We yearn to discover their stories, to know each and every one of them. We search for their graves, their histories, and an understanding of their lives beyond cold statistics.
We connect to a past rich in history and hardships, loves and losses, glories and gains. We understand ourselves as we understand them, the same genes, the same features, the same family. We honour them and bestow our respect to their memory, for their bones are our bones, their flesh is our flesh.
We record carefully all that we have unearthed, learned, discovered, understood and surmised. Then, we pass the torch of knowledge and heritage to our children, our grandchildren and their grand children.
We are the story tellers, the bards, the druids of the tribes. ***************************************************************************************
"A Prayer For Genealogists"
Lord, help me dig into the past,
And sift the sands of time;
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient roads,
On which my fathers trod;
And led them through so many lands,
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dust manuscript,
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gaps that haunts
My soul when I can't find,
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.
~ Curtis Woods ~

Doing our medieval ancestry I used a lot of different resources and web sites, and learnt quite a bit of english history as I was researching. Dates and names vary a lot depending on which site you go into or what history book you have been researching> I apologise for any mistakes I have made while doing this part of my tree, if you find something you think is wrong or you can add to anything please let me know.
Some of the resources I used are: The Peerage.com, http://www3.dcs.hull.ac.uk/genealogy/royal/, DeBretts Peerage, Royal Genealogies Website.
Any family members are welcome to use the pictures that I have on here. *************************************************************************************************** IF YOU HAVE THE TIME PLEASE SIGN THE GUEST BOOK BEFORE YOU LEAVE....THANKYOU ***************************************************************************************************

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
